For collectors appreciative of circulated perfection, this is a monstrosity of a coin. Light mocha brown and olive green surfaces shine spectacularly. This overdate comes pretty generic in color on circulated examples, but some mint states do come with special toning, usually magenta. The luster radiates through the surfaces and is both delicate and powerful. The overdate is crisp & naked eye visible if you have good vision. This is a Snow 3g which is distinguishable by a die chip coming out to the right of the E in CENT. The coin is Pop 1 for a an 1869/69 in AU 58+. It is CAC approved, but I was hoping for Gold. The truth about the grade is this coin was previously in a PCGS MS 63 BN holder and cracked out for a raw book of Indians. After The Plant Doctor’s unfortunate passing, I got this entire book graded, and this was a delightful surprise. The price is strong but the coin & the history is stronger, and frankly, I do not care if it sells. It is that special. The Plant Doctor Collection Book 1
